This set includes two recovery winches for CH‑53 and MH‑53 variants, allowing you to upgrade both sides of a build or keep one for a future project. One winch is configured for normal painting, while the second is designed around an MV lens for the floodlight so you can create a lit, “working” hoist look if desired.
Both winches are 3D printed with crisp detail and are light‑years ahead of anything the kits ever dreamed of including. They add that extra bit of “umph” around the side door and ramp area and are a natural fit for Pave Low and Sea Stallion builds posed in rescue, insertion, or maintenance scenes.
Key features
Two recovery winches for CH‑53 and MH‑53 helicopter models in a single set.
One winch configured for standard painting, one configured to accept an MV lens in the floodlight housing.
High‑resolution 3D printed detail far beyond typical kit parts.
Ideal for MH‑53 Pave Low, CH‑53 Sea Stallion, and related heavy‑lift/rescue variants.
Great for dioramas and open‑door builds that highlight the rescue hoist area.
Compatibility
Suitable for CH‑53 and MH‑53 kits in [list scales here: e.g., 1/48 and 1/72] depending on how you offer the set. Sized to look correct on common Sea Stallion and Pave Low kits; minor adjustment may be needed depending on manufacturer.
Installation and use
Clean the 3D printed winches of any support remnants and test‑fit them to your chosen mounting points near the cabin door. For the MV‑lens version, drill or open the light housing as required, insert the MV lens, and secure with a clear adhesive. Glue the winch body in place with CA, then run any additional wiring or cabling you want to add. Prime and paint to match your helicopter’s interior and exterior colors, with metallic and weathered touches to bring out the detail.
